Local Funding

State Funding

  • OEEF – The Office of Environmental Education administers the Ohio Environmental Education Fund, awarding up to one million dollars annually in grants for projects targeting pre-school through university students and teachers, the general public and the regulated community.

Federal Funding

  • Firstgov for Nonprofits – Information on federal assistance available to nonprofits, links to legal information, laws on fundraising and outreach, links to federal agency websites that provide grants to nonprofits.
  • Grants.gov – Recently announced grant opportunities from  Federal government agencies.
  • National Endowment for the Arts – Federal grants in the fine arts.
  • The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance – Provides a full listing of all federal programs available to State and local governments, federally recognized Indian-tribal governments, Territories of the United States, domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions, specialized groups, and individuals.

  • Grant Select – A searchable list of 10,000+ public and private grantors.  Only available at the library (all branches).
  • Join Together – Created by Join Together, an organization dealing with substance abuse.  See their resources area for funding opportunities.
    Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s Grantsmanship Center – Provides basic grant training classes and books on fundraising, nonprofit management and grant resources.
